2023: Charms: Boba Tea and a London bus:
2022: Charms: Chef/Faulisi for first culinary job, jump roper for reaching Silver Level, cosmetics bag for her make-up play, and of course, her driver's license.
2021: Last year she gets gifts from China! She received her etching, jade and pearls. Her charms were a Covid virus ball, money w/ pumpkin for her first job [at pumpkin patch], and a volunteer banner for all her many, many volunteering activities.
2020: A Covid-19 Family Day: Her China gift is a chop with her name. Her charms are: We're #1 for her winning Battle of the Books and Odyssey of the Mind teams, a falcon for her new high school, and a school house for doing this academic year at home.
2019: Charms: apron for MasterChef camp, I love books/Panther for all her media library and Battle of Books and Project Lit activities, broccoli for veggie, 13.
2018: New charms include a peace sign and first place ribbon for her Odyssey of the Mind competition, plus charms for the China trip and the NYC trip. Her gift was a pearl necklace!
2016: No cobbler this year due to too many sweets for Halloween and D's bday! This was Mei Mei's wish so she had Jimmy Johns sub for dinner! China gift was a jewelry box with two bracelets and her charms are a hula hoop girl [due to being in Hoop Group at school all last year] and a Herkimer diamond [representing her big vacation/road trip]
2015: Her China gift was a small spoon with a peacock and her charms were: a jump roping girl, a new house [moving] and a horse and shell for her recent beach trip. She also had her first ever flute competition on this day and earned honorable mention [second place]!
2014: Her China gift was fancy bookmarks and her new charms were: music notes for her first flute recital, a bright smile for her time with braces, and Harry Potter eyeglasses:
2013: Her gift from China were lucky fish/etc. and her charms were: a humpback whale from Acadia National Park, an arm for her broken arm, and a small letter "K":
2012: Her gift was a large fan, and her charms were: ballerina and flute for all her work in both, a dala horse and eiffel tower for the trip to Europe, a dolphin for her switch to DDES, and a rooster as she was born in the Year of the Rooster:
2011: Her gift is a dragon comb and her charms were a salamander for starting Kingergarten at the Salem Salamander school, a book for learning to read, and a tooth for losing her first few baby teeth:
2010: Gift is a small purse and mirror, charm is a bicycle, and dessert is blueberry cobbler:
2009: spent day at Science Museum, then blueberry cobbler dessert. China gift was Rooster egg.
2009 charms: muffin tin for love of baking, mug of hot chocolate for our special mama-daughter dates at bookstore cafe.
